Concept: AR road sign translation app

POV:

There are numerous road signs on the road, especially in Malaysia. Many tourists may become confused when viewing road sign icons without descriptions. Malaysians may also misinterpret the road sign if they see a similar road sign. The AR Road Sign Translation app is an application that aims to alleviate these concerns by translating Malaysian road signs into an augmented reality view that provides an explanation in English as well as an animated description.

How it works:

Artificial Reality extracts road signs in Malay name and translate the road sign into a short description in English. The translation will then appear in an AR visualise form by explaining what's the road sign for. The road sign translation output should be in an AR view which include the translation of the Malay text and the road sign explanation along with some animation features. 

MVP Features:

• Translates both road sign icon and words.
• The translated road signs will retain the original design (fonts and colours) to the greatest extent possible.
• Also translates Malay text that detected on the road sign board into English version and an explanation of the road sign purpose.

Requirements: 

• Able to perform AR experience in real-time.
• Provide videos for further understanding.
• An actual road sign are detectable instead of scanning image.
• Buttons/ features will appears in the AR view if it detects corresponding road signs.
• Include animated features in each of the scanning page.
• All buttons are accessible and available for further features such as linking different pages/ scenes.
