3D Modeling: Exercise 3

Exercise 3: Modeling From Cylindrical Shape

In our third exercise, we are to build a composition of an object that has a cylindrical shape. Some examples of this type of object include wine bottles, bowls, vases, and other similar items. During the process of merging my objects, I was able to construct a composition that included a sake bottle and three sake cups. These items are from a scene in the anime series "One Piece." It wasn't a difficult composition at all; rather, it was just a straightforward scenario with basic model skills involving the transformation of a cylinder into a bottle and a bowl. In order to create the form of the sake bottle, I began by inserting a cylinder mesh and then scaling it to the appropriate dimensions. Before I can extrude the long and narrow bottleneck, I need to choose the upper faces on the cylinder and gradually scale it down in size. Only then will I be able to construct the bottleneck. To create the convex portion of the bottle's mouth, I utilised the inset face feature at the bottle's mouth. This gave the mouth of the bottle a more rounded appearance. The sake cups are fashioned in a manner that is analogous to that of the bottle, with the exception that the mouth of the cups has been widened somewhat. During this practise, I also investigated ways to use wooden texture materials as the plane's basic colour.

Used Object: Cylinder (base shape of the sake bottle and cups), Torus (sake cups bottom), Plane (wooden texture), Circle (sake cups level)

Output object: Composition of 1 wine bottle and 3 sake cups

We also built a coca-cola bottle model in the class from a cylindrical shape.
