3D Modeling: Project 3

PROJECT III (FINAL) : ORGANIC MODELING (CHARACTER)

Character Modelling: Chainsaw devil from Chainsawman

Chainsaw head:

The head was created using plane objects that were scaled to fit the reference image and supported with a mirror modifier. Faces from the back of the head are extruded to make the angle of the chainsaw engine. Knife tool is used to cut and select the faces to extrude in the eyes part (all four vertical lines). The head part also includes some cylinder shapes as the chainsaw handle and components.

Chainsawman body:

The body was also created by a plane object by adding multiresolution modifier to smooth the faces. The references image was added in different orthographic view to adjust the balance on both sides of the body. The limb segmentation is altered with scale, and the body sections are adjusted with grab points.

Clothing:
shirt
pants
shoes

The shirt are a duplication object from the selected faces from the body.  The duplicate object (shirt) are then scaled bigger to cover the body and the tie are faces that are extrude from the shirt cutting by the knife tool. Whereas the pants and the shoes are also an object duplicated from the selected faces from the body.

Final Output: Chainsawman

I tried to model the chainsaw demon Denji from the Chainsawman manga. The character design features chainsaw blades sprouting from the head and the sides of arms. His head is not human-like but resembles the engine part of a chainsaw, with a split mouth and sharp teeth on his face.
